Frequently asked questions
What is a universal branch code?
A single branch code a bank publishes for payments into any of its accounts, whichever branch the account was opened at. For an EFT you normally need only the universal code and the account number.
Branch code or SWIFT code?
Use the branch code for payments inside South Africa (EFT, salary, debit order). Use the SWIFT code only when money is sent from another country.
Why is my bank not listed?
We list a code only when the bank publishes it on its own website and we can find it there. If your bank is missing, check its website or banking app under EFT or payment details.
